Submitted by Steve Cohn, Apr 17, 2006 Another practical joke also involved Rich Fortin, Tony Santos, myself, and the TCR-100. The TCR was known for doing strange things, and one afternoon, Rich wedged himself into the frame. (Rich, if you know him, was not a tall person. ) We summoned Lee Tanner to Master Control to demonstrate the latest malfunction of the TCR. Lee, being the engineering manager, did not claim to be a chief engineer and never passed himself off to be one, even though he functioned as such. So we had Lee place a cassette into the belt and position it in front of the "offending" transport and press the load button. Rich, had a cassette in his hands and was ready for the load. (What Lee didn't know was Rich was in the back of the machine and the "offending" transport was pulled out. So, Lee "loaded" the cassette, and when it hit the deck, Rich took his cassette and tossed it atop the TCR to the amazement of Lee, who just shook his head in amazement, and walked away saying "just fix it!" Of course as he left the area we all roared in laughter and put the machine back to "normal!" |
