Cameraman for WTEV. | |
from Tom French 1/22/2015 Hi everyone. I'm now retired and living in Clarence, New York just outside Buffalo. I started in television at WTEV in New Bedford, Mass. in 1966, stayed on to about 1970. I moved to Syracuse in 1970 and headed to Buffalo, NY in 1971. I worked in the studios and worked hockey for the Buffalo Sabres until 1975. With great honor I accepted a job ABC network. Work that I doing: the soap opera "One Life to Live" and sports events. I have 3 Emmy's, one for the 1980 winter games in Lake Placid, (I ran camera for the Hockey game that USA beat Russia,) the soap opera "All My Children" in 1983, and the Summer Olympics in LA in 1984. I worked at ABC until 1986, then returned to Buffalo as a freelancer until my retirement in 2011. I am so sorry to hear about Bob Bassett passing. He was a great friend. I will miss him. Just some short facts about me: Born Sept. 11, 1940 in Waterloo, NY which is the birth place of Memorial Day. If any one wishes to call me...1-716-759-6756. Thank You... | |
