Submitted By Pete Mandell Vance Eckersley passed away at age 86 at his retirement home in Pompano Beach, Florida on Monday, July 2, 2001. (Mann Reed called to notify me of Vance's passing.) After all is said and done, WTEV existed primarily because of Vance Eckersley. I worked for him twice - at 'TEV and WVEU here in Atlanta - for a total of about 23 years, so I have the greatest respect for the man and considered him a good friend and mentor. |
