Bob was on as a board operator and evolved into an engineer. He got caught up in one layoff or another and emerged as a non-union director doing newscasts. He moved on to WCVB in Boston and later became director of Engineering for LIN Broadcasting. He died only a couple of years ago. From Bob Palmer (April 2004) Bob became VP of engineering for LIN Broadcasting which he spent many years. Bob was Director of Engineering for Freedom Broadcasting for many year beforing joining WBAL-TV in Balitmore, MD. He then joined LIN TV which is a group that owns 24 stations and became VP of Engineering. He retired in Jan 2003. Bob passed away this last May after a long illness. A dear friend of mine for many years. | |
