Subject: Hello There! Info on WTEV-6 please!

Hi!
I sell books on ebay. I have a book that is about Jackie Kennedy and her sister Lee. "One Special Summer" 1974. I was about to list it when I inspected the cover under the DJ and there was a bright pink foil stamp that says "WTEV-6" in inch high letters! So I go haring off looking for info as to why this is stamped on the dust jacket and the hard cover of my nice book. After googling awhile I found your site.

Could this book have been offered as a premium on a PBS station? Or on one of those auctions that small stations sometimes hold for operating cash? I'd love to know how things come to be and wondered how this book that may have once been in MA is now in SC?

Strange, but I myself have a MA connection. I was born in Gloucester in 1952. I wonder if I may have watch your TV as a kid! I think I saw something about WTEV being in New Bedford. Anyhow thanks for any info you may remember or wish to impart. I enjoyed looking at your web site, done with love and care! Regards,
Neila

Several hundred copies of that book about Jackie's summer in Paris with her sister, (I'm surprised his is dated 1974, I'd have guessed the 1960s) were obtained by Vance from a salvage merchant in Connecticut. His name escapes me but Vance did a lot of trade business with him...fish knives etc. Mann Reed, John Robinson or Pete Mandell would probably remember. The books were used as giveaways on the station.

When Jackie Kennedy's belongings were auctioned by Southerby(?) after her death I saw one of those books in the auction catalogue. I don't know what it sold for. I have a couple of copies stored somewhere in my garage...If you find out they're worth millions let me know.
