I used to be Miss Kris on Romper Room at WTEV during the time of Truman, Ben Schneider, Bob Bassett, Lee, John Robinson, Vance, etc. My crew was Jon Foley, big Mark and Little Mark, all of whom loved to put bourbon in my milk for milk and cookies time. Lots of great memories, lots and lots of laughs. 
From Jim Donnelly, November 11, 2020 I was there Oct 1974 thru Mar 1975. I don't think were doing Romper Room then. When I was younger, I used to see the Boston version. Did you used to look through a mirror at your "students"? I tipped some beers with Bob Bassett during those months. And listened to stories from Jon Foley. Loved that guy. R.I.P. From Kris Stewart, November 11, 2020 You must have watched Miss Jean. I think she was at Channel 5 in Boston. WTEV did not have Romper Room when you were there. I was actually the last "live" Romper Room teacher on WTEV before all the stations in the country went to tapes of Miss Sally, who was the daughter of Miss Nancy and Bert Claster who originated the show in Baltimore. We all were trained by Miss Nancy in Baltimore before going on air. Her magic mirror is now in the Smithsonian. Jon was one of my very favorites. Once I have moved, I will be sure to send you whatever I have. |
