Pete Mandell
WTEV Promotion Manager from December 1962 (prior to sign on 1/1/63) through August of 1974.
From Pete Mandell:

My career pretty much paralleled those of Bob Bassett and Truman Taylor - itinerant disk jockey in Southeastern New England and gradually segueing into television. Bob and I were long-time buddies - sharing our love of jazz and other stuff. I guest-hosted and finally took over his long-running "Portraits of Jazz" radio show on WNBH in the late '60s.
From Les Brown 11/20/20

Sad to report that Pete passed away this month (November, 2020) at his home in Stone Mountain, GA.

Pete and his wife, MaryLou (Pinardi) moved to Atlanta at the same time Vance Eckersley took over management of a TV station there - after WTEV was sold to Pulitzer.

Pete and I worked together at WALE (Fall River), WERI (Westerly, RI) and at WTEV. He married MaryLou in New Bedford - having met her while working in Westerly.
